Whilst shopping in River Island, I noticed this male
t-shirt which I recognised to be Christian oil painting which I initially found quite unusual to be located on a t shirt which was targeted at the teenage market.
I see how the piece of art work has been edited to make it usable on this type of garment, as the image has been desaturated for effect and to take away the levels of colour in the image.
It is rather obscure how a infamous piece of religious art is now being paraded on a piece of attire targeted at teenagers, whom will not know of the significance of this piece or the connotations that are related to it.
It is interesting to see the use of historical art from a biblical period and how it us used in a modern day scenario.
